heavyWhen you are ready to complete your Class 2 Learner Assessment, you will need to apply in person at a New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) driver licensing agent.These are selected branches of the Automobile Association (AA), Vehicle Testing New Zealand (VTNZ) and Vehicle Inspection New Zealand (VINZ). A full list of agents, their addresses and hours of business is available at www.nzta.govt.nz. You’ll need to go to a driver licensing agent, to:

  • fill out an application form & present evidence of your identity
  • book a time to take the theory test, usually it can be done on the spot.
  • pay for the theory test and the learner licence application
  • meet the eyesight requirements and present a medical certificate (DL9)
  • provide a signature & have your photograph taken.

Costs: Learner licence application ($48.20) Learner licence theory test ($45.70) Total = $93.90
All fees include GST, are non-refundable and are paid at the time of application.

Once completed and you have your new “temporary licence”, give us a call and we can book you in for our next available Class 2 Full Assessment.





Class 2L: Your course consists of Theory, Practical Assessment Unit Standard 24089 (Health, stress & fatigue management) Unit Standard 17574 (Driving) and will take approximately 2 full days to completed (which will be pre-arranged with you i.e. 2x Saturdays or the Monday & Wednesday)
